Marks of Perception
Draw on the Go Field Trips / Instructional Tours

Class trips are fun for everyone.
At Marks of Perception we go on Field Trips at least a couple times a year. I like to take the children gallery hopping whenever time allows, and plan more extravagant trips when they are: a. required by the students' progress, and b. can be scheduled . These photos are from our trip last year to the Royal Winter Fair. Class Trips give the children opportunity to practice the drawing techniques they learn in class.
We are off to the Royal Winter Fair again this year. The date for our adventure is Monday November the 9th. We will meet at marks of Perception School at 9AM and return at 5PM.
The factors that go into considering whether an activity is appropriate for an individual child are:
~ schedules! Planning activities outside of regularly scheduled class time is a challenging task, in some cases we are dealing with the schedules of 7 families, it gets harried!
~ destination; how far we must travel, going to the local park to draw trees for example, is much different than going to the Zoo to practice supplementary contour drawing
~ skill level; How long a child has been in the school; they need to be familiar with the technical methods we use in class , and I, as the teacher have to know them quite well, we must have an established rapport.
~ age of the child; they need to possess the physical and emotional stamina required by the trip
~ maturity level / behavior; as I am the sole chaperon on these trips, the children must be independent enough to handle a field trip with other children, and also be at a stage in their own development, and their development in the class (regardless of age) when they are able to accept direction.
