In her work with images Deb is engaged in process of generations of reproductions and contexts / in a continuum of writing & rewriting / of observing & making meaning change. The original pieces in the Sublime Series, photographs and artworks themselves, were reproduced and put to work in magazines. As the magazines passed through Deb's hands she ripped the images from their magazine context, tore their meaning from them. She then made the images tell another story when she created the collages; compositions / a new contexts for the images. The life of the images are therefore extended: the collages are photographed, posted online, later printed, the print painted, the painting photographed digitally, photo shopped, printed on an invitation, the invitation scanned, manipulated and posted online the internet. These are paintings with history.
